NATIONAL EXAMINATION PREPARATION

As part of the national curriculum, the faculty and staff of the school understand that students need to prepare for the National Examination (UN) as it is a tool to measure standards of competency, and a requirement to pursue higher education in Indonesia. Therefore, they provide an intensive program for UN preparation alongside the regular lessons.

ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS

In addition to weekly joint activities in each class, every Homeroom Teacher is obliged to periodically spend one-on-one time with each student. These meetings are aimed at providing students with a natural space for communication in which they are encouraged to share ideas or any issues they might have. Each student is given time and space to exchange ideas both individually as well as in a group setting.

COLLEGE COUNSELLING & CAREER PLANNING

The school believes that it takes careful planning for students to achieve success in both academic and non-academic sectors. Furthermore, they believe that students, as the main stakeholders, should be involved early on in designing a future that works for them. Therefore, the school has provided a special department for College and Career Counselling to assist students and parents with educational planning for further education or future careers. Students who are involved in future study and/or career planning from the outset, are more inclined to a higher level of responsibility for improving their lives.

The teacher also asks questions to the class if there are questions and if they could follow the flow of the lesson. If the teacher sees that somebody needs help, she approaches and assists him about some ambiguities that he had encountered during the class.

Under-performers are given academic supports through extra lessons. The lessons are only given to under-performers of the classes since they need it the most. It is given by teachers.

Homeroom teachers visit student’s parents once in 6 months to discuss the performance of their students.
