Before I proceed to my discussion and lesson proper, I established my rules first. But I also asked them if they are okay with the said rules, and they answered a resounding yes! The rule that I established is “RAISE”-Your hand, Your confidence, and Your expectations. I elucidated each one of them. I told them that I will just raise my right hand If I needed their attention.  It means that If they see me waving my hands, they are expected to keep quiet. In addition, they also needed to raise their hands if they ask questions about some directions or if there were some ambiguities in our lesson. Furthermore, they needed to raise their confidence. I encouraged them to ask questions and don’t be shy to participate in the discussion. Lastly, I told them to raise their expectation, putting into their mind that they have to learn something in my class.

After I laid down my rules and my students agreed with them, I started to begin my lesson. And all segments were smoothly done inside the classroom. I just waved my hand and everybody kept quiet. I also observed active participation and engagement during the teaching-learning process.
