There are many ways on how teachers measure the learning of the students. And I will discuss it as ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING, ASSESSMENT AS LEARNING, and ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING.
Assessment of Learning: the teachers sometimes give long test or chapter test. They also have their midterm and final exam which are made by the ministry of education of Indonesia. It means that the students get the same exam in the whole Indonesia.
Assessment for learning: Ms. Medina is fond of giving check up test everyday. She would just print some questions just to check the understanding of her students regarding the past lesson. She also gives assessment in a form of a games like domino or jigsaw and give some assignment to strengthen their concept and understanding.
Assessment as learning: Some of the teachers employ self checking of his/her own paper to check themselves if to what extent they understood the lesson. By this, they can reflect their own learning and aware of their progress. In addition, they also do peer learning, wherein the students are discussing the concepts and asking their question to each other.
