To be a part of  SEA Teachers Program was never a part of my college plan. All along I thought I would just stay in Philippines and finish my degree. At first, I rejected and I was a bit hesitant when Dr. Montano, the dean of the College of Education of West Visayas State University, offered this opportunity to me. But sometimes the people around you are the ones who can truly see your potential that they push to do the things that you yourself have never imagined to do. That is why I am very thankful for these type of people in my life- my professors, college friends and “parents” for encouraging and supporting me to join the SEA Teachers Program.

The first week was just an observation week. I had the opportunity to observe the classes of junior and senior high school of Kesatuan Bangsa School. At the second week, was teaching assistant-ship, I helped the teachers in facilitating the class. During group activity and practice exercises I roamed around and answered some queries of the students. I also assisted the teacher in distributing the materials that the students manipulated during the teaching-learning process. The third week was all about preparation for my demo teachings. I prepared my instructional materials, lesson plans and evaluation sheet that I used in my class. After my teaching classes, I was able to reflect all the things and learning that transpired in my teaching practices. Thru the feedback and constructive criticism from my mentors and teachers, I was able to reflect on my capacity as a pre-service teacher. They reminded and reinforced the strengths that I possessed as a future teacher.

In the weekends, I also experienced some educational tours where we could really immerse ourselves to the culture of Indonesia. For example, I had gone to one of the seven wonders of the world which is Borobudur in Jogjakarta, Indonesia.

The practicum ended with some closing and farewell programs, both from our receiving university and the school where I was deployed.
